What happened to Jimmy Beans? / What is Lama Beans?/ Who is Lama?

TLDR: Lama was the general manager of Jimmy Beans, when the old owners decided to sell the restaurant, he purchased it from them and renamed it Lama Beans.
Today Lama Beans continues the legacy of Jimmy Beans since 1994 to bring excellent food and service at inexpensive prices.

ECO Friendliness

We use compostable paper/plastic bags, cold/hot cups, boxes, bowls and utensils from Monahan paper company!
Whenever possible we opt to use recycled or renewable products to reduce waste.
All of our trash is presorted and we try to reduce waste where ever possible. Which is also good for business 😉

What happened to this Dinner item?

In order to keep our menu fresh, we rotate between dinner items every few days.
Dinner items listed in the “On rotation menu” will usually be available.
Other items are either single run trials or seasonal specials.
We try to incorporate seasonal vegetables into our Dinner entrees, so the sides are constantly changing.

What happened to this Beer on tap?

We keep our beers on rotation so our customers can try out new beers.
We will also have a seasonal beers on tap when available.
The most popular ones such as the Trumer Pils from our neighbors on 4th street will always be available!

How do all these specials work?!

“Board Specials” are written at our front counter only. They are the Pizza Slice, Soup of the Day and a limited Breakfast and Lunch special for that day.
“Daily Lunch Specials” are posted everyday by 11am and run from 11am – 4pm change day to day.
“Weekend Brunch Specials” are posted every Friday by 5pm. Only available for the weekends and run from 9am – 4pm / 3-day holiday weekends.
“3-Course Dinner Specials” will rarely change and only seasonally. Available everynight starting at 5pm.

Do we take customer feedback?

We are constantly striving to improve so customer feedback is encouraged!
Customer feedback is very important to our rotating Dinner selections and popular weekend Brunch.

Where do we get our _____?

All of our Produce is Purchased Fresh from local markets when possible.
Nothing is ever frozen, to maintain freshness, we buy light and restock every 2-3 days.
We also use Pacific Rim Produce for additional produce deliveries.
Our meats are also delivered frequently from Golden Gate Meat and Aloha Seafood
We source our bread fresh everyday from Acme Bread Berkeley.
We source our organic fair-trade coffee and espresso from Mr. Espresso
We source our dairy products from Petaluma Farms and Challenge Dairy
We source our fresh juices from Voila! Juice.
